Minds in Action

Minds in Action - Level 1

Dates: May 28-31, 2024

Minds in Action is designed to provide learning experiences outside of the classroom. Registration for Summer 2023 is now open. Metro North students are eligible for Minds In Action - Level 1, but advanced Minds In Action levels are available for older students. 

This year through Minds In Action Level 1, students will creek stomp, explore the Muncie Children's Museum and the Ball State Planetarium, visit the Fort Wayne Zoo, and camp out at Salamonie Reservoir.

Parents provide transportation to Metro North Elementary School, and then transportation to learning experiences is provided.

SPARK

Full-Day Programming in Partnership with YMCA

  • Students attending the all-day SPARK program will benefit from small group instruction designed to boost their reading, writing and math. On Mondays through Thursdays, students will spend the morning portion of their day receiving small group instruction in academic areas; the afternoon portion is dedicated to enrichment and local field trips. On Fridays, students will have an entire day of enrichment, including day-long field trips and experiences.
  • Open to students currently enrolled in grades K-3
  • Dates: June 3 - July 3, 2024
  • Hours: 8:00 am to 3:15 pm
  • Location: Metro North Elementary School
  • Cost: FREE!
  • Transportation: PROVIDED
  • Academic classes meet on Monday-Thursday mornings
  • Enrichment classes meet Monday-Thursday afternoons and all day on Friday
