Arrival and Dismissal

To ensure every student’s safety, we will utilize the procedures below at Metro North. Please share these procedures with anyone in your family that utilizes our drop-off and pick-up lane. Your patience is greatly appreciated, and please have your driver’s license available if requested.

Morning Student Arrival @ Door #1 – Metro North Front Drive

Student arrival time is from 7:30 am to 8:15 am

• Option 1 – Drive Through – The right lane is reserved for families dropping off students. Families
should pull as far forward as possible; students should quickly exit the car on the sidewalk side and
immediately proceed to the building. Parents should remain in their vehicles, and depart as soon as
students are on the sidewalk. This lane is for students not needing assistance getting out of the
vehicle.

• Option 2 – Park and Walk – The diagonal parking spots are for families with students needing
assistance with unbuckling, parents needing to enter Metro North, and/or parents wishing to walk their
child to the building. Please pull forward and park in one of the yellow diagonal parking spots, hold
your child’s hand, and utilize the crosswalk to safely move to the sidewalk.

Afternoon Pick-up

Afternoon Student Dismissal @ Door #14 – Metro North Gymnasium Doors

Student pick-up time is from 2:50 pm to 3:10 pm.

1. Dismissal for students being picked up will occur at door #14 in our west parking lot (gym doors).
2. Vehicles for student dismissal are prohibited from entering our school campus until 2:45 pm. For the
safety of our students and staff, please do not arrive early.
3. Vehicles will enter Hammel Lane via 400 W. and follow the arrows around the west parking lot area.
4. All vehicles should display their child’s name placard in the front passenger side window.
5. Upon your arrival, remain in your vehicle and move forward with the pick-up line.
6. When your vehicle is in the area on the building side of the parking lot, the “loading zone,” your child
will exit the building. At that time, you may exit your vehicle but MUST remain in close proximity to
your vehicle (approximately an arm’s length). This will assist with your child locating you in the pick-up
zone.
7. Parents will place their child in the vehicle and prepare to exit the school campus when signaled.
8. Vehicles are to stay in the line and follow the car in front of you unless you are directed by a staff
member to pass a vehicle.
9. All vehicles will exit school campus via 400 W.
